Please run Software Update to check for updates.

Alternatively, check if an update is available by visiting the Apple web site at:
http://www.apple.com/macosx/features/java


I am updated to 10.5.3 and all the updates from System Update. Anyone have any ideas?

I have the same problem. And I have tested java and it works fine. But if I try to run java from a terminal I get this error related lines and all I wanted after that. So matlab gets java version, but can't recognize it, because of those error lines.

Anyone with the solution?

I have the same error. I'm running Mac OS 10.5.5 with all the updates as of this post date using EFiX. Does anyone know how to fix this?

I have a different problem.

I can install and run Matlab R2008B on iDeneb 1.3 10.5.5 fine, but it crashes with a bus error as soon as I try to do a simple matrix multiplication.

I have tried this both with Java and without. I have the latest X11 Xquartz installed (on top of the X11 that came installed with iDeneb), not that it matters for the matrix multiplication.
