Taruga moved everything to his wiki, which is fine as long as it's up.. however as it keeps going down it leaves us stuck without download options.. I'm sure it would be much appreciated if anyone with the various patchers would post the links here until such time as the wiki comes back.. ideally we should have some sort of contingency if this is going to happen repeatedly.

so here's HDAPatcher v 1.20 to start things off

Here is AppleHDAPatcher 1.16 and HDAenabler!

As Taruga seems to have dropped off the face of the planet (honestly, I hope he's okay and it's just a well-deserved vacation), does anyone else in the community have the know-how to continue updating these HDA projects?

I confess my motivation is selfish, as I'd love to get the ALC269 in my Eee 901 working. I gathered the various files (HDAPatcher, HDAenabler, ALCinject, and both versions of AppleHDA), tried various things (running HDAPatcher - unrecognized, littleprince's suggestion - no luck), so it looks like I'm stuck waiting for a codec update. But without Taruga, is anyone able to create those updates?

Does anyone happen to have AD1988b rev3 installer? I'm not having any luck using HDA pather v.20 and linux codec dump - it tells me its not supported. I know the rev3 installer works because I just had it working the other day before I managed to mess up my install by trying to install 10.5.5. sad.gif

Does anyone mind posting the v.2.0 patcher?

I have a new gigabyte ICH10r board and I can't seem to get the sound to work. I've tried the AppleHDA.kext and using AppleHDAPatcher 1.16 with the ALC889A dump (thats my sound card) and I still have no audio devices.

In "About this Mac" under Audio I do see that I have a device ID and an Audio ID, but I just don't see any Available Devices under neath it. Before I installed the AppleHDA.kext it just said I didn't have any devices at all, so at least I'm about halfway there.

I'm running Kalyway 10.5.2 upgraded to 10.5.5.

Any suggestions?

Hey iox, I meant patcher version 2.00b. It's referenced on the wiki but I don't see any links to it.

Found AD1988b rev4 installer somewhere else in the forum
Anyone care to explain what the HDApatcher does and if my AD1988b can work better with it? Thanks tongue.gif

I have an HP Pavilion dv5-1015nr notebook and am having trouble with getting my audio working. I've tried using the HDA patcher, but the current release (1.20) does not work with my codec. Does anyone know if version 2.0 will be released soon? I've attached my codec dump from linux.

I've just used Taruga's AD1988b rev4 Installer and I have everything working on an Asus M2N-E motherboard biggrin.gif .

So, a big Thank you to Taruga and all his work!

Aaaarghhhhhhh!

Can someone please help me.

I've spent days trawling through every conceivable thread on audio and i still can't solve my problem. I have an Asus Commando motherboard with the ADI 1988b chipset, with ID's VEN_11D4 & DEV_198B. I've tried Taruga's HDA patchers, the revised ver.3 and ver. 4 installers, I've modified .plist's till the cows have come home and I still can't get my audio working. I can get basic HD audio coming out with the Azalia installer, but System profiler won't recognise that I've got audio hardware. This stops me from using apps I need to use. Other Asus owners with the 1988b codec have got theirs to work - I don't understand why mine doesn't. The TarugaAD1988rev3Installer gets me hardware recognition and a working volume bar, but I get no sound coming out. WHY?

Please help!

I don't really think this project is still been maintained any more though.

If it will help the project, I can provide a space for the wiki and probably help on others things.
I'm still not a good enough programmer, otherwise I'd made a driver for my ADI1981..

Has Taruga ever published the source to HDAEnabler?

I have a P5K Deluxe Wifi mobo, and I am going to reload the OS because of a borked update. Regardless, I have been hunting around for all of the necessary patches to update my mobo after the install. Is the Taruga ver3 preferred over the ver4 for my board. I would like to use the Coax digital out, as it was working with the last install, however I am pretty sure that was Taruga ver3. Thank you for all of your help.

Only the dump is needed with the patcher, the job of the patcher combined with the dump is to modify a kext you already have into working, AppleHDA.kext
ckybam69
ok so does any1 have the alc 862 dump? i have looked everywhere. really wish tarugas wiki was working. did he just stop doing this stuff?

this is a nub question but wats the difference between a dump and a kext? i know a kext is a kernel extension but dont really know what that is beside a text file thats a driver and im just all kinds of confused on what im doing right now.

a dump is actually just the text file from Linux where the sound already works, it outputs the sound configuration info into a readable text format and the HDA patcher inputs all that information from the text file and configures the AppleHDA.kext accordingly.

a kernel extension (kext) is a loadable module for the kernel (exactly the same thing as linux kernel modules) that are composed of an Info.plist (information about the kext, it's dependencies), the binary (the actual module being loaded into the kernel), a resources folder (for things like translation strings), PlugIns folder (for extra kexts, kernel extensions within kernel extensions), and sometimes a Version.plist as well.

Hello,

I'm on a Dell Dimension 9200, I installed Kaliway 10.5.2, almost everything is working:
* 8600GTS OK -> 1680x1050 with 3D (Enemy Territory is working!)
* Linksys WUSB54G OK (I didn't try to get my internal ethernet slot working)
but I don't have sound: it's a STAC9227 chipset.

I used Patcher v1.20 with home made dump for STAC9227 (I'm running ubuntu with multiboot).
After the reboot, one output (Intel HD ...) is detected but still no sound.
I read somewhere on the web that someone made it work with patcher v1.15.

Can someone put the link to this version or explain me what I missed with patcher 1.20?

2nd question: after I dragged dump.txt on Patcher icon, Patcher is launching et detects some outputs,... and says me I can reboot. Do I have to repair files authorisations before the reboot?
Golgoth
Yeah, internal ethernet is working thanks to this driver
following how-to here

biggrin.gif

Can some upload AppleHDAPatcher v1.15? I can't find it on the web...
Thanks!
Golgoth
I found it on some korean website ^^!

But no success with v1.15... sad.gif

Codec: SigmaTel STAC9227
Address: 2
Vendor Id: 0x83847618
Subsystem Id: 0x80862113

does anyone have AppleHDA_v0.2a.mpkg.zip uploaded?
ckybam69
any1 have a dump for alc 861-vd?
ckybam69
ok when i install kalyway 10.5.2 i get sound and volume control but none of the outputs work. i tried creating a dump in linux and the dump didnt work. its says alc 861-vd in linux but its alc862 in vista. also here is the dump that linux gives me:

CODE
Codec: Generic 11c1 Si3054
Address: 0
Vendor Id: 0x11c11040
Subsystem Id: 0x11790001
Revision Id: 0x100200

and i dont think that is right but if it is what can i do with that? can i modify the exsisting appleHDA file to put these numbers in?

Same problem, my ALC883 with AZALIA gives me only output, all other drivers gives nothing, tried applehda pather 1.17, 1.19, 1.20 first with ALCinject then with HDAenabler, with various dump, just nothing worked, no input and no output device, I've read somewhere that ALC883 is broken in 10.5.5, any idea what to do?
