Hello everyone,

I have an ASUS P5K Premium mobo, Core2Quad Q6600 CPU, iATKOS 4.1 updated to 10.5.5. I'd like to monitor CPU temperature, but Temperature Monitor doesn't install because he misses some part of the default system (probably the kexts removed by the option "Remove Thermal Kexts" at install). I also tried iStat Pro, and it measures CPU activity but he can't measure CPU temp, only HDs'.

Is there a way to make any of these programs work or is there any other software which would work with my Quad CPU?

Thanks in advance!

what temperature monitor misses is the AditionalSpeechVoices.pkg installed. If you can get that package from a retail disk or somewhere else, install it an you are ready to go... other option is to install an older version of Temp mon....

Yeah, I thought the problem was that too at first, because it was what I did when I installed iATKOS for the first time WHITHOUT selecting the "Removing Thermal kexts" option and it worked, but with this install putting Alex's voice back as I did before just doesn't work, that's why I'm assuming it's a missing thermal kexts issue.

I may give a try again, since I did not try it after updating to 10.5.5, but with little hope.

Ok, tried copying Alex's voice again, fixed permissions and rebooted with -f just to make sure, but yet Tamperature Monitor won't install.

Any way to extract the sensors driver from the package and installing it manually so I could use Temp Monitor Lite? Is that too absurd or stupid? smile.gif

Any other suggestions?

Solved the problem installing Superhai's speedstep kext and monitoring app. The app is still developing, so it doesn't save preferences and does not autohide on startup (manually set, by the way), but works ok! Despite of not having a per core temperature indication as in Temperature Monitor, the readings are pretty consistent with the BIOS and WIndows PC-Probe readings.
