I wish that my first post on this board could be a contribution, but that is not the case - I apologize.
First, I am completely new to OS X. I am using an MSI Wind running MSIWindosx86 on dual boot.
I did my research (but not enough) on fixes for the resolution problem. It led me to Switchres. I understand now that this is NOT an application to be messed with if you are not an intermediate level Mac user.
I installed the program and opened it. It seemed simple at the time: enter the resolution that you desire (1024x600) and reboot the machine to apply the changes. you can imagine what happend upon restart.
Again, I apologize for kicking off my participation at this board with a 'Help me, I have no idea what I'm doing' thread but I would greatly appreciate it if someone could help me fix this issue and get my machine running at the proper resolution.
EDIT: I have attempted to start in safe mode by pressing shift and typing '-x' as well as holding shift at the apple screen. Both sent me to the blue screen once again
