Got this email from apple and just wanted to know if this meant that leopard will be released or just a wwbc 07 reminder?
Kiko
Lol, no leopard will never be released, and having wwdc07 at the bottom of the picture i think implies wwdc07. i dunno why tho. i still cant figure what this thing means x-D
nickg331
yea i got the same email. its just the announcement of the dates for WWDC. i know it resembles time machine but i doubt it coincides with a leopard release date (as we were promised a spring release)
quixos
if those calendars are a foretaste of the new leopard gui, i'll like it. the corners and edges seem very 3d-ish.

Well, since we know Leopard will be out by then...what does everyone think will be the big WWDC anouncement this year.

•iPhone 3rd Party development xcode templates / SDK?
•Pre-Announcements of 10.6 :gasp:
•Something crazy?
•Nothing?
nickg331
my moneys on a new ipod (widescreen? wireless?)
Fizzeh
oo, that's quite likely I think. All iPod are wires....you don't need to plug them in. But I get what you meant, and that would be cool.
nickg331
yea... some of the patents from apple show something like an ipod with internet capabilities/wireless syncing, though those patents couldve just applied to the iphone

itd set the zune back if apple did it well though...

(also apple suposedly has 3 new ipod models lined up for this year...)
Fizzeh
I hope they do a Beatles signature iPod. It could have both Apple's logos side-by-side!
nickg331
yea thatd be cool... ever since they released the u2 one ive been wondering if they would do more
and now that apple has the rights to preload ipods with music they could put the entire beatles catalog on the special edition...
kevin_4e
A Beatles iPod would sell like crazy if they designed it right.

I've actually got an unopened Zune that I'm going to trade in for the next iPod. I'm really hoping for a widescreen/touchscreen iPod.

Also, no I don't think this idicates anything to do with Leopard.

Other than having the exact same background as Time Machine, a tool only available in Leopard.

Sure, it could mean that Leopard is coming then as it will still be Spring... barely.
It could just as likely be now that you have had a look at how everything works, here is how to make your Apps make the most of all the new Leopard frameworks. Although, every dev would have already seen everything that Leopard has to offer well before WWDC.

I would like to see someone try to justify why Apple would release Leopard before WWDC.
If they did, what would they talk about at the developer confrence? Too soon to have any info on 10.6.

This is the second developer conference scheduled between two major versions since the birth of OS X.

The first gave us the switch to Intel. I can't bet what's gonna happen.

Unless Apple were to announce moving to multi-touch displays and wanting all devs to incorporate gesturing ability and handwriting recognition into their products, there really isn't that much that could happen at WWDC if Leopard were released beforehand.
nickg331
leopard BETTER be released before hand...
bwhsh8r
bahhahah, the email was titled something wwdc... (i forget....) but thats what its for.

Hey Nick,
Why don't you just hold your breath, you haven't done that in a while...
