I just downloaded all the .rar files from [Link removed, read rules]
I burn them to a DVD using Clone CD. All has worked out good so far. When I opened DVD it says Tiger all over it. I did not see the word Leopard at all.
Since I did not have Tiger anyway on my Power Book G4 I decided to install it anyway. I let it reboot and it is still installing as I am writting this.
Installation is going well. It did ask me if I wanted to install the additional software on disc and I said yes. This is taking a lot of time.
Now I hope that this installation is not removing all the programs and data I already had on my G4. It looks like to me it is re-installing all programs to hard drive. I think when it does finish I will have lost my addional programs I had on computer. But I am not sure.
So is this Leopard or Tiger. Why does it say Tiger. Not Leopard. Can anyone help. Does anyone know if I lost all my additional programs. I guess I will know soon enough. Thanks Clint.

Not sure about your apps and stuff, but it might be leopard, even if it says tiger, leopard is still in beta so apple is worrying about more important stuff other than branding. Just like Microsoft was doing, all of the early Longhorn builds had XP written all over them.

Go to about this Mac and click on the bit where it says version, it should give you the build number. If it starts with 9, it's Leopard.
I suppose you could also look for the obvious things like Time machine and spaces

I click on about and see ver 10.4.3. I don't see anywhere where it says built. This Leopard supposely adv. hack or crack [link removed] why does it not work.
should I be doing something else to turn it into leapord. Also I do not see Time Machine and Spaces. They are not in my bottom bar and I can't find it anywhere else.

If it says your version is 10.4.3 then guess what....your version is 10.4.3. This is most Definitely not Leopard (10.5.x), and is in fact a fairly dated version of Tiger (10.4.x).

Leopard right now isn't very ready for the prime time as it is, you might as well just update the version of Tiger you just got to the most recent 10.4.9 and be happy you have a dashboard and other cool things that Panther didn't have.

please post link to the rapid share file for the Tiger 10.4.9. I just checked my version and it is 10.4.1. If I can't get the lepord than I will settle for the 10.4.9. Someone please post a rapid share link. Thanks.
